Some context

OidoKocina is a marketplace web app primarily focused on food delivery. What sets them apart is their focus on small towns in the southern region of Spain (Europe).

The two founders, both developers, launched the app in 2014. Today, the platform handles over 40,000 orders per month. Over the years, they gradually added new features, but the app's visual design had been neglected, making the platform feel outdated. To stay competitive, they decided it was time for a complete UI refresh.

Goal of the project

Transform the app’s outdated interface into a modern and visually appealing experience, ensuring it stays competitive and aligns with current market trends.

Main challenges

Outdated framework

Using Angular 1 as the framework not only limited our ability to add new features and slowed down development, but it also created design constraints.

Maintaining the structure

The project focused on redesigning the front-end and improving some interactions, but the core structure and backend had to remain intact—or undergo minimal changes—to keep costs low.
